Hans Nagtegaal – Head of Containers at Port of Rotterdam Authority
[ September 4, 2015 // Gary G Burrows ]Congratulations to Hans Nagtegaal on his new position as head of Containers at the Port of Rotterdam Authority, effective September 1.
Mr. Nagtegaal, 49, joins the port authority has a highly experienced manager from the world of shipping and logistics. He’s enjoyed a successful career at P&O NedLloyd (in China, among other places) where he ultimately became director of the NileDutch Africa Line, via Safmarine.
Hans Nagtegaal succeeds Joyce Bliek. The Port Authority has created a new position, in which Ms. Bliek will focus on improving and streamlining digital communication and the exchange of information in the supply chain.
The increases in scale in container shipping result in peak volumes and cause a lot of stress in logistics, partly because a great deal of the information needed is fragmented across this chain. Improving the supply chain is one of the spearheads of Port Authority policy and Ms. Bliek will flesh this out, in conjunction with Portbase.
