OmniTRAX Receives BNSF Premier Transload Facility Designation
[ July 28, 2017 // Gary G Burrows ]The transload facility operated by the OmniTRAX, Inc.-managed Sands Spring Railway Company (SS) was named by BNSF as a Premier Status location, signifying superior performance, a comprehensive service offering and a minimum capacity level. BNSF awards a limited number of Premier Status partner facilities during the course of the year.
“BNSF is a great partner of OmniTRAX and this honor will serve to redouble our efforts on behalf of our joint customers. The designation helps validate our capabilities in this quickly growing sector,” said Kevin Shuba, CEO of OmniTRAX.
As part of the nomination process, the Sand Springs transload facility was vetted using a survey to determine the freight being moved and the services offered. Interviews were then held with the BNSF Transload team, and BNSF’s regional manager reviewed the survey and visited the site in person to verify services.
The Sand Springs Railway has direct connections with Union Pacific and BNSF. Traffic handled includes steel, pulpboard, scrap iron, scrap paper, petroleum products, plastics and lumber. OmniTRAX is also leasing 100,000 sq. ft. of covered warehouse space with heavy lift equipment to serve the transload needs of steel and building products shippers throughout Oklahoma.
