Peak Scientific Signs Up For Seko Logistics’ Visibility, Reporting and Cost Saving Solutions
[ August 11, 2017 // Gary G Burrows ]Peak Scientific, a leading innovator in the design, manufacture and support of high performance gas generators for analytical laboratories, is partnering with SEKO Logistics to help optimize its supply chain with enhanced visibility, reporting and cost saving solutions.
Working with SEKO, Peak now serves customers in two of its major markets in China and the U.S. with in-territory stock, using seafreight to ship products in bulk and eliminating its former approach of shipping single units by air. By helping reduce its transportation costs by using consolidated FCL, SEKO has also enabled Peak to achieve a steady flow of product and faster response times for its customers.
Another big advantage for Peak is SEKO’s advanced shipment visibility and reporting tools, which provide real-time updates of products both locally and globally, ensuring customers always receive accurate and timely information. SEKO’s award-winning technology also provides detailed data to help Peak see and manage the performance of its suppliers.
David Williamson, Peak Scientific’s Global Supply Chain and Logistics Manager, said: “Peak Scientific has chosen SEKO as a logistics partner due to the visibility it provides to our business, which is a particular bonus given the scale and global footprint Peak has. We have been actively going through a logistic change procedure to optimize our supply chain and SEKO has been integral to this process. We expect this to contribute to sales growth by giving us a competitive advantage in that we can supply customers more quickly than our competitors. Logistical agility you could call it.”
For the third year in-a-row, Glasgow-headquartered Peak Scientific has earned a place in The Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 listing, which ranks Britain’s mid-market private companies with the fastest-growing international sales, measured over their latest two years of available accounts. Improving the performance of its global supply chain will also help Peak realize its strong growth potential, particularly in the U.S, China, India and Southeast Asia.
Ronnie Scobie, Director of SEKO Logistics in Scotland, added: “Peak Scientific has achieved tremendous growth and its supply chain is critical to this success. Like many other companies that partner with SEKO, they have recognized the value of our visibility and reporting tools as well as our ability to offer more efficient transportation solutions. With the improvements we know we can deliver, we hope to play a growing role in Peak’s future expansion all over the world.”
