SCPA Orders Six New Container Cranes
[ December 22, 2017 // Gary G Burrows ]The South Carolina Ports Authority has placed a $69.5 million order for six new STS cranes to serve growing container volumes and big ships calling the Port of Charleston. Five of the cranes will be 169-feet in height and will be deployed at Hugh Leatherman Terminal, now under construction and expected to be open in 2020. One crane will be 155-feet in height and will be deployed to the Wando Welch Terminal. By the end of 2018 the Wando Welch Terminal will feature 13 container cranes.
