Virtual Run for Wishes

Georgia Ports is a proud sponsor of the Make-A-Wish Georgia’s 2020 Run
for Wishes. Due to COVID-19, this year’s event, which will include GPA
participants, will take place virtually on April 29-May 3 rather than at
a specific site.

The decision by Make-A-Wish Georgia to go virtual rather than postpone
the event was made because, while races may be postponed, hope for
critically ill children cannot. In fact, during COVID-19, the morale
boost to all of us in giving/receiving wishes becomes more important
than ever.

Make-A-Wish’s move to a virtual race is a great example of retooling
and flexibility in this uncertain time. The mission of Make-A-Wish
Georgia aligns with one of GPA’s core values — caring for its
neighbors and community.
