[ July 30, 2021 // Gary G Burrows ]Freightify, a startup that refers to itself as the “Shopify for maritime freight,” has secured $2.5 million in pre-Series A funding to help the company with its ocean rate management platform.
In 2020, The company, originally known as FreightBro, became the first platform to integrate into Maersk Spot. That online product simplified booking processes for freight forwarders.
But now the company has been rebranded as Freightify. With pre-Series A funding, it plans to expand its white-label services to the United States and Europe.
Freightify currently serves customers in 10 countries. Its customers are freight forwarders who range in size from handling 250 shipments a year to more than 100,000.
Freightify co-founder and CEO Raghavendran Viswanathan remarks that the company was founded with the belief that the future of technology in freight forwarding should be democratized and made available for everyone. “The current capital expansion from the right partners cements this belief and helps us add value to the maritime industry across the world,” he said.
