Siemens Takes Helm at Briese Chartering

Guenther Siemens, who has been with BBC Chartering in varying positions for more than 25 years, takes over the role of the managing director of Briese Chartering Jan. 1.
Siemens, formerly chief operations officer at BBC Chartering, succeeds Ilona Lazareva, who stepping down from the position at her own request but will remain with Briese Chartering as a chartering broker. Replacing Siemens as COO at BBC Chartering will be Christoph Deters, who recently had the position of a team lead in the operations department.
“With his profound knowledge in multipurpose shipping, Guenther Siemens will be instrumental in further developing our business in the shipping segment Briese Chartering operates in,” said Wilke Briese, managing partner of Briese Chartering.
“We will certainly miss [Siemens’] extensive knowledge, his experience, and his well-liked personality at BBC Chartering,” said Ulrich Ulrichs, CEO. “Whilst Guenther’s move to Briese Chartering is a great loss for BBC, we are very fortunate to have some great talents within the organization to take over.”
