AAL Kicks Off 30th Anniversary with Dubai Event

[ February 24, 2025   //   ]

AAL Shipping kicked off a year of events observing its 30th anniversary in the multipurpose, project and heavy-lift industries by hosting an evening rooftop reception gathering industry with partners and stakeholders during Breakbulk Middle East in Dubai, Feb. 10-11.
Since its establishment in 1995, AAL has expanded its operations to encompass key global trade routes, serving dynamic industries such as energy, infrastructure, construction, mining and leisure.
“Reaching this 30-year milestone is testament to the dedication and expertise of our teams spanning four continents, as well as the trust and support of our customers, vendors and associates,” said Kyriacos Panayides, CEO of AAL Shipping.
“As we celebrate our history, we look to the future with a clear vision and mission, always accompanied by gratitude, pride, and determination. Our promise is clear: we will continue to evolve, lead, and serve our customers and stakeholders with unwavering dedication and in an ethical and sustainable manner. In our 30 years of operations, we have experienced and dealt with a broad range of external challenges – including market crashes, geopolitical unrest, extreme weather events and even a pandemic. Throughout all kinds of unpredictability, we have managed to deliver on our customer commitments,” Panayides said.
AAL’s anniversary coincides with the ongoing delivery of its third-generation 32,000 dwt Super B-Class vessels, building on its first-generation newbuild program in the 2000s and the subsequent introduction of its second generation 19,000 dwt S-Class and 31,000 dwt A-Class multipurpose heavy lift vessels. Designed to meet current and evolving demands of the project and heavy-lift shipping sector, the Super B-Class fleet expansion represents another milestone.
“With every new generation of vessel, AAL continues its evolution from our origins as a multipurpose carrier of mostly breakbulk and steel cargoes to one that is at the forefront of the premium project heavy lift segment,” Panayides said. “Our long-standing liner services established in 1995 and still running also give us the unique capability to parcel all types of MPP cargo and over the years, we have worked closely with our customers to understand their current and future needs to remain their partner of choice.”
The Middle East reception reflected its growing role as a project hub, which last year enjoyed unprecedented levels of capital expenditure across all sectors. According to data from MEED Projects, a total of US$264 billion worth of contracts were awarded in 2024, up by 6.5 percent compared to the previous record set in 2023.
AAL will hold a series of global events throughout 2025, as it continues to show its appreciation of its customers, stakeholders and colleagues.
