Americold Purchases East Point, GA Facility to Add Capacity in the US Southeast
[ July 26, 2016 // Gary G Burrows ]Americold, the global leader in temperature-controlled warehousing and logistics to the food industry, announced that it has concluded the purchase of the temperature-controlled storage facility at 1239 Oakleigh Drive, East Point, GA, bolstering the company’s Georgia-based facility network to 15 and controlling more than 90 million cubic feet of capacity.
“We’re fortunate to be supporting some very successful food producers and retailers who are rapidly expanding throughout the Southeast. They needed additional, dedicated capacity and challenged us to become their provider of choice,” commented Fred Boehler, President and CEO of Americold. “The East Point site is centrally accessible within the Atlanta metro area and is a critical component of our Atlanta distribution strategy. It will complement our existing network very well.”
