Another ground handling success for WFS
[ December 14, 2018 // Gary G Burrows ]Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) growing ground handling operations have been boosted by the awarding of a new three-year contract by Colombia’s Avianca Airlines at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.
Under the terms of the new agreement, WFS will provide ticketing, customer service and cabin cleaning for 63 Avianca flights per week from New York JFK. The airline operates Airbus A319, A320, A321 and A330 services from the airport to Bogota, San Jose, San Salvador, Medellin, Cartagena and Brazil.
Avianca also becomes WFS’ first customer at JFK’s Terminal Four.

This is WFS’ fourth new ground handling contract at JFK in recent months, following the signing of new agreement with LOT Polish Airlines, Brussels Airlines and WOW air. WFS also serves China Eastern Airlines, Cathy Pacific Airways, Philippine Airlines and Eva Airways at the airport.
With the commencement of the new Avianca contract, WFS’ team of 320 ground handling specialists will now be serving customers in Terminals 1, 4, 7 and 8 at New York JFK. They provide all aspects of passenger check-in, arrivals, departures, baggage tracing, baggage deliveries, and weight and balance services as well as centralized load control.
