C$40m to Increase Productivity, Competitiveness of Montreal Port Authority
[ June 2, 2017 // Gary G Burrows ]The Government of Québec is providing C$ 40 million in financial assistance to the Montreal Port Authority to upgrade its infrastructure, which will increase productivity and maintain the competitiveness of the port, the second largest in Canada.
“On behalf of my team and all port users, I thank the Government of Quebec for this vote of confidence in the Montreal Port Authority,” said Sylvie Vachon, President and CEO of MPA. “The project aims to
consolidate and develop port assets to support growth, which in fact meets the objectives shared by the MPA and the Government of Quebec within the framework of its Maritime Strategy. Today’s money will be
invested strategically and will contribute to the development and growth of the entire port and Montreal community, of course, but also to the growth of the entire Quebec economy. “
