ATA Truck Tonnage Index Rose 3.7% in 2017

American Trucking Associations’ advanced seasonally adjusted (SA) For-Hire Truck Tonnage Index fell for the first time since September, losing 5.7% in December. In December, the index equaled 142.9 (2000=100), down from 151.6 in November. For all of 2017, compared with 2016, the index was up 3.7%. This was the largest annual gain since 2013 (6.1%).
