CMA CGM Adds Transatlantic Surcharges

French ocean carrier CMA CGM has announced peak season surcharges, effective Jan. 1 from European ports to U.S. and Canadian ports and inland destinations.
For all cargoes except out-of-gauge, or OOG, and before breaking bulk, or BBB, the surcharge will be US$250 per 20-foot containers and US$500 per 40-foot standard and high cube, and 45-foot boxes, from these port regions:
• From Mediterranean ports including France (Fos/Marseilles), Portugal, Italy, Spain (Algeciras, Valencia, Barcelona, Sagunto, Vigo), Morocco to U.S. East and Gulf coasts ports and related inland destinations.
• From all ports in North Europe including North France, UK, Ireland, Scandinavia, Poland, Baltic, North Spain (Bilbao, Gijon), Portugal and Türkiye, to U.S. West Coast and inland destinations reached via said ports.
• From ports in North France, UK, Ireland, Scandinavia, Poland, Baltic, North Spain (Bilbao, Gijon) & West Med ports including France (Fos/Marseilles), Portugal, Italy, Spain (Algeciras, Valencia, Barcelona, Sagunto, Vigo), Morocco and Türkiye, to Canada East Coast ports and related inland destinations, including refrigerated containers.
From Türkiye to U.S. East and Gulf coasts and related inland destinations for all cargoes except OOG and BBB, the surcharge will be US$300 per 20-foot dry and refrigerated containers.
In addition, CMA CGM also said its peak-season surcharge of US$1,500 per unit for all cargoes from the Indian Subcontinent, Middle East Gulf, Red Sea and Egypt to the U.S. East and Gulf coasts ports will resume Jan. 1.
