CMA CGM Sets Caribbean Peak Season Rates

French shipping line and logistics company CMA CGM said it plans to implement a peak season surcharge from the U.S. to the Caribbean, effective Sept. 23.
The surcharge will be US$250 per 40-foot and 45-foot containers for dry cargo, US$300 per 20-footer and US$600 per 40-footer.
The service covers the port range of Windward, French West Indies, Aruba, Bahamas, Bonaire, Curaçao, Guyana, Jamaica, St Kitts, St Maarten, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago.
The peak season surcharge will extend through Jan. 5, 2025, CMA CGM said.
The shipping line notes that bunker-related surcharges, THC (origin and destination) and safety and security-related surcharges may also apply and are accessible at http://www.cma-cgm.com/ebusiness/tariffs/charge-finder. Other charges such as contingency charges and local charges may be applicable.
