FBJ-FBJNA welcome Lufthansa Cargo’s new B777F
[ March 25, 2019 // Gary G Burrows ]The editors of both Britain’s FBJ and North America’s FBJNA toured the cargo hold of Lufthansa’s brand-new Boeing 777F during a press conference in Frankfurt, Germany, March 18. The aircraft had arrived Frankfurt from Shanghai and was scheduled to fly to Beijing that evening.
The aircraft first landed at Frankfurt after flying from the Boeing manufacturing facility in Everett, WA, on February 19. The sixth B777F in Lufthansa Cargo’s fleet, the aircraft now offers scheduled service.
Upon its arrival, Harald Gloy, COO and Member of the Board of Lufthansa Cargo, commented: “We are delighted to welcome the sixth Boeing 777F freighter to our fleet. This aircraft is the quietest and most efficient in its class – and therefore the freighter of our choice for our ongoing fleet modernization.”
Gloy personally welcomed the aircraft and its first crew.
Lufthansa Cargo has ordered a further brand-new Boeing 777F, which is expected to be
delivered in spring. Later this year, two MD-11F aircraft will go out of service. Lufthansa Cargo will
then operate seven Boeing 777F and ten MD-11F aircraft. The fleet modernization is due to be
completed by 2025 at the latest.
