FECR customers outline ease of use for new EZ Buy tool
[ July 2, 2016 // Gary G Burrows ]Florida East Coast Railway (FECR) recently debuted a new online quoting tool, EZ Buy. The tool provides an online price quote and booking system for customers to ‘buy’ door-to-door intermodal transactional freight between the Southeast U.S. markets and the South Florida markets.
One of the key features of the EZ Buy tool is a price negotiation function. It allows users to access dynamic price quotes, giving them the opportunity to negotiate the rate and book an order, all in one easy transaction.
Tyler Smith, an Intermodal Operations rep for Chicago-based Coyote Logistics praised the new tool, stating, “FECR’s EZ Buy product is very convenient and easy to use. It quickly provides both rate and capacity options and even lets you negotiate with FECR if the rate does not work.”
Customers can purchase door-to-door transportation via EZ Buy for lanes between the Southeastern U.S. (Atlanta, Charlotte, Jacksonville) and South Florida (Fort Pierce, Fort Lauderdale, Miami) by simply entering a pick-up and delivery zip code or city name within these serviceable metro areas.
“The negotiation price option on EZ Buy is a great feature as it allows users to see the schedules and fuel for a specific lane which is helpful in making the best freight transport decision,” said Christy Hensley, Intermodal Operations Manager for Averitt Express. “EZ Buy is overall a great tool and will become more and more viable to us.”
