Maersk Upgrades 2024 Profit Forecast
[ October 25, 2024 // Gary G Burrows ]A.P. Moller – Maersk has upgraded its full-year guidance for 2024, due to a third quarter operating profit of US$3.3 million, based on preliminary unaudited figures, the shipping giant said Oct. 21.
APMM now expects full-year 2024 operating income of US$5.2 billion to US$5.7 billion, up from US$3 billion to US$5 billion previously, due to the strong third quarter results combined with strong container market demand and the continuation of the Red Sea situation.
The outlook for global container market growth for 2024 has also been revised upward to about 6 percent, from 4 percent to 6 percent previously.
APMM will publish its full third quarter interim results on Oct. 31.
