Port Canaveral Adds Mobile Harbor Crane

[ October 18, 2024   //   ]

Port Canaveral has signed an agreement with the Liebherr Group to acquire a third mobile harbor crane, a significant enhancement to its cargo handling capabilities.
The 320-foot-tall Liebherr LHM 600, represents the latest addition from Liebherr’s newly launched mobile harbor crane product line. It’s the third of its kind at Port Canaveral and the second Liebherr LHM 600.
The crane will be specially equipped with additional counterweights to meet heavy lift requirements of rocket components from our space sector partners.
Scheduled for production this October, the crane is expected to arrive by late summer 2025, further bolstering our commitment to expanding Port Canaveral’s capacity and efficiency in cargo operations.
The rebuilding of North Cargo Berth 4 (NCB4) and the construction of two new parking garages at Cruise Terminals 6 and 10 are on track for completion by November, strengthening our infrastructure for future growth.
Port Canaveral said its terminal operating partners passed 5.7 million tons of cargo by July.
