Port of Los Angeles Celebrates 2nd Annual Lunar New Year
[ February 2, 2016 // Gary G Burrows ]The Port of Los Angeles is celebrating the second annual Lunar New Year on February 6 by honoring the Year of the Fire Monkey.
This year’s cultural performances will enhance the multicultural experience. New to the Port’s Lunar New year Festival are Fujima Seiyumi Kai, Tai Chi with Angie Sierra and the Fantastic Patrick (Magician). Returning favorites include the Giddy Up Ranch Petting Zoo, the Wushu Shaolin Lion Dancers, Dragon Martial Arts School of Torrance, the Korean Dance Academy of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Chinese Cultural Center, Kokoro Taiko Kai Drummers of Long Beach. Fireworks will be the grand finale.
The Giddy Up Ranch will return with its entourage of animals, which represent the Chinese Zodiac including goats, sheep, pigs, roosters, horse and a special appearance by the Gentle Yak.
