Sterling Transportation Expands Footprint into Texas
[ June 1, 2019 // Gary G Burrows ]Effective June 1, 2019, Sterling Transportation will begin operations in Texas. Sterling has worked with Grand Slam Companies to bring their Houston operation under the Sterling Transportation banner.
“We see this as a win-win,” said Keith Davis, Founder & CEO of Sterling Transportation. “Texas to Florida is a great complement to our core lane of Los Angeles to Florida. This will be an amazing addition for us and for our customers.”
“I could not have hoped for a better situation. No one knows the Florida market like Sterling Transportation and they already have relationships with most of the customers,” said Kevin Craver, President at Grand Slam Transportation.
The Houston location will continue functioning with minimal changes. “Our goal is for this to be a seamless transition. There is a huge overlap between the Texas customer base and ours. They will continue to get the same level of service from the same people in Houston but the back-office functions will be consolidated and customer support will be enhanced,” added Davis.
Sterling Transportation will immediately expand the offerings from Houston to include Orlando with additional service points planned for the near future.
David Oliver, Operations Manager of the Houston office is excited for the transition. “This means we will be able to offer more products and even better service,” he says. “The potential for growth is amazing. The future is bigger and brighter! Unlike other companies, Sterling operates a terminal in Miami and doesn’t use an agent.” Oliver and his current team in Houston will remain in place and the operation will continue ‘business as usual.’
