Wall Street Journal reporters indicate that China Shipping Container Lines (CSCL), a subsidiary of the China Shipping Group, is reportedly planning to order 10 ultra-large container ships for US $1.5 billion.
The mammoth container ships can carry up to 20,000 intermodal containers each, which would help CSCL fulfill its capacity commitments for its Ocean Three Alliance while also reducing the per-container cost of transport and boosting the line's bottom line.
