[ January 21, 2025 // Gary G Burrows ]Trailer Bridge Inc. said it has been selected by the Naval Supply Systems Command for a five-year, multi-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for the U.S. military.
Trailer Bridge is one of 86 companies worldwide awarded the contract for the Worldwide Expeditionary Multiple Award Contract 2.0. WEXMAC 2.0 is valued at US$1.43 billion and spans from January 2025 to December 2029, with a five-year extension option.
Under its award, Trailer Bridge will support the logistical needs of the U.S. military across 22 regions around the world including Europe, the Caribbean and Pacific regions. The government is expected to begin issuing task orders under this contract in January.
“We continue to show our steadfast support of the U.S. military and its allies and are grateful for their continued trust with this latest award,” said Trailer Bridge CEO Mitch Luciano.
This is the latest government contract issued to Trailer Bridge in a string of awards since 2024. The company was selected by U.S. Transportation Command, or USTRANSCOM, for the Ports Operations and Related transportation Services (PORTS) Contract to provide commercial port operations and transportation services in locations outside the continental U.S. in May 2024. It also received its first single-source contract from USTRANSCOM, the All Ports Denmark Contract, valued at US$60 million, which began in October 2024.
Trailer Bridge was also included in the multi-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity Universal Services Contract-10 announced in 2024 to provide commercial port operations and related transportation in locations outside the continental U.S. for both containerized and breakbulk cargo.
“Our team has worked diligently to provide our government partners with competitive and reliable logistics services throughout each contract process. We appreciate the trust and support shown to Trailer Bridge as we continue our expansion to serve our Armed Forces and their global allies” said Chris Goss, Trailer Bridge vice president of government and projects.
Trailer Bridge was founded in 1991 by industry pioneer Malcom McLean to serve the Puerto Rican trade lane with consistent, weekly barge service. The company has since expanded its service offerings to include domestic transportation solutions throughout North America and international shipping and freight forwarding through its sister company, Trailer Bridge International. Its global footprint includes locations in the U.S., Mexico, the Caribbean, and Europe.
